Nishit Jalan, CEO, Grovy India, on his plans for the future
Business entities are facing a hard time in India, how much has it affected your company?
Real estate sector was hit hard due to covid lockdown which resulted in a mass exodus from NCR of migrant daily wage labour. However, while NCR has seen a depreciation of real estate, South Delhi real estate is largely unaffected due to Covid- 19. South Delhi residents have realized the importance of a technically superior construction as construction/design faults were more apparent during the lockdown as people spend two entire months in their homes. Furthermore in South Delhi, availability is limited. people have realized the need for spacious living and hence look at buying new houses or reconstructing their current home. These factors combined with an increase in acceptance of the concept of nuclear families has increased the demand for builder floors in South Delhi.
What are the key trends impacting the future of real estate?
On a recent survey conducted by Grovy India, residents have given inputs as to how to make “Work from Home” easier for them. The most common input we received from this survey was to make a room soundproof (the work room) as the the biggest distraction faced in working from home are the noises from our daily lives. Grovy has taken this input seriously and will roll out soundproofing solutions for our existing and future clients. We might see other developers also coming up with similar solutions to integrate working from home into our lives.
Have you worked on any key projects under covid-19? Please throw light on that.
We collaborated with Rotary Club of India to provide food, rations, protection masks and sanitizers and educated labor regarding safety protocols and social distancing at various construction and infrastructure sites.
What are your key milestones till now?
We are proud to declare that even though a nation wide lockdown was imposed for more than two months followed by the mass exodus of daily wage labour, we are working overtime to ensure timely delivery of all our projects and shall deliver all projects as promised. This has been achieved while following Covid safety measures and environmental safety guidelines.
